My Beloved Children,
I write these words not because I possess the power to change what will come after me, nor because I imagine that my hand will reach into tomorrow once I have departed from this world. Rather, I write because my conscience will not allow me to leave while there remains an unspoken word in my heart, a piece of advice not delivered, or a truth not made clear.
The years of my life have taught me that wealth is a blessing, but it can also become a trial. Greed does not merely steal possessions; it can steal the love between brothers and sisters and plant wounds in hearts that may remain for many years.
If among you there is anyone who sees worldly matters as greater than family ties, and material gain as more valuable than affection and love, I cannot change his heart, nor can I force him toward what he does not choose. I have done what I could, spoken what I believe to be right, and fulfilled my responsibility before Almighty Allah and before you.
As for you, my beloved ones, do not let worldly matters become a reason to lose one another. Remember that I did not spend my life striving to accumulate wealth. Rather, I believed that having enough is a blessing worthy of gratitude, and that what Almighty Allah has provided us should be a bridge of love, support for family, and a means of maintaining the bonds of kinship.
I may not leave behind wealth for you, but I hope I have left within you something far more precious: noble character to inherit, compassion to carry, and loyalty that keeps you united as one hand through times of ease and hardship.
Never allow any word or action from any one of you to become a cause for severing the bond with a brother, a sister, or a relative. For what remains of a person after they depart is not the worldly possessions they gathered, but the goodness and beautiful impact they leave behind in the hearts of those they loved.
I am not speaking about an inheritance of money, but an inheritance of principles—a legacy of a man who believed that true wealth is not found in what one saves, but in what one gives. My greatest wish for my children is that they be educated, dignified, compassionate, and that their doors remain open to their family and relatives.
When a person looks back upon their life, they realize that the years were not merely numbers added to their age, but traces left in the lives of others: a kind word, an act of loyalty, the struggles of a father so that his children may live better, and a hand extended to a relative in times of hardship.
Perhaps one of the most comforting realizations when reflecting upon the journey of life is knowing that Almighty Allah never allows a sincere effort made out of love, a tear shed out of mercy, or a deed done seeking His noble pleasure to be lost.
Wealth may pass away, circumstances may change, and generations may come and go, yet the silent testimonies of a person’s life remain: a word of truth remembered, an act of loyalty whose impact endures, and a heart that loved people sincerely.
O Lord, I was never perfect, but I tried to be beneficial and to leave behind hearts that love one another rather than hearts divided by conflict.
O Almighty Allah, protect my children, unite their hearts, make them a righteous and blessed offspring, and let the love they hold for one another be a continuing charity whose reward I hope to receive after my departure.
With best regards,
