Reflect with me on how Islam honored women and immortalized their names in the greatest historical and religious milestones:
The first person to inhabit the Sacred Sanctuary in Mecca was our mother Hajar (peace be upon him/her). (Note: "peace be upon her" is commonly used as "peace be upon them" or "peace be upon her" in English Islamic contexts).
The first person to believe in the Prophet ﷺ was the Mother of the Believers, Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her).
The first blood shed in the cause of Allah (the first female martyr) was Sumayyah, the mother of Ammar ibn Yasir (may Allah be pleased with her).
The third longest chapter in the Holy Quran is Surah An-Nisa (The Women).
In the Farewell Sermon, the Prophet ﷺ repeated three times: "I enjoin you to treat women well."
Is there any religion that grants greater dignity to women than Islam?
