The Final Departure

One day we shall depart, leaving everything behind us—our families, our loved ones, our wealth, and our homes—and we will proceed alone into a silent grave.

There, nothing remains with us except our deeds.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Three follow the deceased: two return, and one remains with him. His family, his wealth, and his deeds follow him; then his family and his wealth return, and his deeds remain.”

[Narrated by Al-Bukhari]

So ask yourself today: What have you prepared for that day?

For this worldly life is fleeting, and we are all departing; life slips away, and opportunity does not last.

So prepare for the final departure, and present for yourself good deeds that will endure long after you are gone.
