Don’t Look Back
There are people who strike at you from the shadows, hurting you where you cannot see, then walk away as though nothing ever happened. Their silence may leave you wondering who was behind the wound, who cast the stone, or who stood by and watched it happen.
But wisdom does not lie in searching for those who hurt you, nor in exhausting your heart trying to understand their motives. Sometimes you look back only to find an empty silence; sometimes you discover people who chose to remain silent, or even stood with those who caused the harm. And in the end, you realise that life holds enough sorrow without giving every hurt a permanent place in your heart.
Some may spend years causing pain from the shadows, while others willingly stand beside them. Do not, however, allow their actions to occupy your heart longer than they occupied their own lives. Keep moving forward. Gather your heart around what truly matters, and let time place every person where they belong.
Do not look back. Not every arrow deserves to have its archer found, and not every wound deserves so much of your time and peace that you keep it alive within you. Walk on, and leave the pain behind. Let what has passed remain where it belongs. There is a quiet kind of victory in rising above the harm others have caused you—without carrying them with you into the rest of your journey.
