Inspired by an idea attributed to Ibn Khaldun:
If a wise person were given the choice between the disappearance of tyrants or the disappearance of enslaved minds, he would choose the end of servitude in hearts before the fall of tyranny from thrones.
For tyrants do not arise from a void; they are fashioned by souls that have grown accustomed to humiliation, reconciled themselves to submission, and feared to utter the word “no.”
When minds and consciences are set free, tyranny collapses of its own accord. But when souls remain enslaved, they soon fashion a new tyrant whenever the old one disappears.
Nations are not built by the fearful, nor raised by the resigned. Their true foundations are laid by free consciences—people who know the worth of dignity and guard it faithfully.
