and not everything we hear deserves our attention.

Smile…
For a smile often extinguishes what words might ignite,
and preserves the calm of the soul and the warmth between hearts.

Then overlook…
How many small matters grow larger when we dwell on them,
yet fade away when we simply let them pass.

May Almighty Allah have mercy on the one who practices gracious overlooking,
for overlooking is the character of the wise,
and through it affection is preserved and bonds remain strong.

Purity of heart is not a flaw,
overlooking is not foolishness,
and forgiveness is not weakness;
rather, they are noble qualities—
a discipline for the soul,
and an act of devotion
when one intends by them the goodness of the heart
and the preservation of goodwill. ✨
