The Bliss of Paradise

Muslim narrated in his Sahih that the Prophet ﷺ said:

"The person who lived the most luxurious life in this world among the people of the Fire will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and dipped once into the Fire. Then it will be said to him: 'O son of Adam, have you ever seen any good? Have you ever experienced any luxury?' He will reply: 'No, by Allah, O Lord.'

Then the person who suffered the most severe hardship in this world among the people of Paradise will be brought and dipped once into Paradise. It will be said to him: 'O son of Adam, have you ever seen any misery? Have you ever experienced any hardship?' He will reply: 'No, by Allah, O Lord, I have never experienced any misery, nor have I ever seen any hardship.'"

The meaning of the Hadith is that the bliss of Paradise, once attained by the believer, makes them forget all the hardships they endured in this world, just as the punishment of the Fire erases all worldly luxuries from one's memory.

O Allah, grant us Paradise and turn away from us the punishment of the Fire, for You, our Lord, are the Most Merciful to us.
