The Warmth of Sanctuary…
In the bustle of life, we may be dazzled by hands brimming with outward generosity, open houses, and appearances overflowing with abundance. Yet days always teach us that true sanctuary lies not with those who possess goodness, but with those whose hearts breathe it.
How many possess abundance in their hands, yet their hearts are so meager that they grant you nothing but a sense of burden and insignificance! And how beautiful are those who may not own much, yet in their souls lies tranquility, and in their presence is a warmth that mends your sorrow; when they speak, they show kindness to your feelings, and when they are silent, their mere presence is safety.
Seek out souls that are intrinsically and naturally good—those who do not weigh giving against taking, but instead view the comforting of broken hearts and the spreading of peace as their highest calling. For wealth and appearances rise and fall, but noble character alone never rusts, and the true refuge is a heart that expands for you when the world closes in.
