the little in the hands of the contented is an inexhaustible wealth…

The measure of things is determined neither by their physical size nor by their empty dimensions, but rather by the depth of the soul and its outlook upon life.
Thus, the little in the hands of the contented is an inexhaustible wealth, whereas the much diminishes in the eye of the greedy until it becomes nothingness. Distances fall away before the beats of love, making the distant near and adjacent to the soul, while the nearby grows estranged and retreats to the furthest lands if hatred permeates the heart.
Likewise unfold the turns of time: patience dispels the darkness of hardship, transforming the severe into welcoming ease; whereas panic and anguish veil the radiance of blessings, turning abundant ease into a suffocating straitness.
The whole axis revolves around you: whenever your understanding grows illuminated, you grasp the secret of existence and take hold of the reins of your affair; but whenever heedlessness sweeps over you, life slips through your fingers and everything is lost.
