When a Person Rediscovers Their Purpose

There are moments in life when a person feels as though they have lost their sense of purpose, as if everything around them is moving at a pace that no longer concerns them. They may begin to believe that their presence makes little difference, or that they are of no real value. Yet, in truth, what comes to a halt in such moments is not life itself, but a person’s awareness of their own mission, until it seems as though their very soul has stopped moving forward.

We often forget that knowledge is not something we are born with. It is acquired through learning, enriched by reading, deepened through experience, and fulfilled through meaningful action. That is why we write and read: to benefit others and to benefit ourselves. Every sincere word carries within it a long journey of study, reflection, and lived experience.

Perhaps you may read a single line written by someone who had first read dozens of books, or spent countless hours—even days and nights—within the walls of a laboratory, or distilled decades of professional experience into just a few carefully chosen words. How wonderful it is when such knowledge is passed from one person to another through simple words that shorten the journey for others and open doors they might never have reached on their own.

Yet theoretical knowledge alone is never enough. Knowledge that is not translated into action remains incomplete in its impact. A person’s contribution reaches its fullest value when sincere understanding is joined with thoughtful application, each according to their abilities and the opportunities that Almighty Allah has granted them.

No one should ever underestimate the value of their influence. A single kind word may awaken a heart, inspire hope, or change the course of someone’s life.

So let us write what is beneficial, read what elevates us, and live according to what we know. In doing so, life regains its meaning, and we discover that our existence was never without purpose—it was simply waiting for us to awaken within ourselves the spirit of giving.

As long as the heart continues to beat, the mind continues to learn, and the tongue continues to speak goodness, no one has the right to believe that their existence leaves no mark. A word spoken with sincerity may outlive the one who uttered it, continuing to enlighten minds, comfort hearts, and earn its speaker lasting reward for as long as its benefit endures among people.
