Pillars of Success and the True Provision of the Servant
Man labours tirelessly upon this earth, pursuing status, amassing wealth, and chasing fleeting delights that vanish like a mirage. Amidst the fast-paced rush of this life, one often loses sight of the true measure of righteousness, forgetting that true nobility lies not in the worldly debris one collects, but in the purity of principles and the elegance of character that reside within the soul.
The Prophet ﷺ came to place in our hands an unerring compass, uttering words which, if weighed against gold, would surely outweigh it: “If you possess four traits, nothing you miss in this worldly life can ever harm you…” What a sublime word that pours serenity into the anxious heart! It is a noble prophetic declaration that whoever harbours these four qualities within their breast has indeed attained both this world and the Hereafter, even if their hands remain bare of treasures of gold.
These four are the everlasting provision:
Preserving Trust (Hifzu Amanah): By which a person becomes genuinely beloved and firmly established in the hearts of others—seeing truth only as a straight path, and faithfully safeguarding all that has been entrusted to them of faith, honor, and wealth.
Truthfulness of Speech (Sidqu Hadith): Through a pure tongue that knows neither falsehood nor hypocrisy, radiating light whenever it speaks, and earning reverence and affection wherever it goes.
Excellence of Character (Husnu Khaleeqah): Which transforms harshness into peace and gloom into warmth, rendering a person gentle, accessible, near to people, noble in morals, and pure in innate disposition.
Purity in Livelihood (Iffatun fi Tu’mah): The invincible fortress—ensuring not a single morsel of the unlawful enters one's body, purifying one's earnings so that both body and soul remain pure, prayers are answered, and divine blessings descend.
If you fulfill these noble virtues, O servant of Allah, then let whatever may pass you by of this world slip away; for you are indeed the chaste, the honorable, and the esteemed. Your store with Allah is far greater, and your success in both realms is assuredly written.
