The Ultimate Separation
True separation is not when death takes our bodies or the earth hides our faces, for that is merely a passage through which we walk—by God's leave—toward an eternal reunion in the Afterlife where the pangs of absence vanish.
The ultimate separation, the enduring pain, is when our destinies part: when one of us rests in the bliss of Paradise while the other falls into the depths of the Fire.
So if you ever see my foot slip and sin overcome me, do not stand as a silent witness. Grab me firmly by my garments, shake me as one deeply devoted to my salvation, and say to me with a voice full of sincerity: "Fear God."
For true friendship was never merely companionship in this world; it is a covenant that extends until we cross the Sirat together. Indeed, as God Almighty says:
> "Friends on that Day will be enemies to one another, except the righteous." (Qur'an 43:67)
